Marsha Maroelli Sloan is the Director of Family Futures Downeast and Start Up Downeast, where she leads two generation education initiatives supporting parents, young children, serving families and individuals across Washington County and Passamaquoddy communities. She manages the sixpartner collaborative, focused on expanding access to education, workforce opportunities, and improving family stability.With over three decades of nonprofit and Tribal leadership experience, Marsha is recognized for building strong community partnerships, advancing equity, and securing funding to expand opportunities. Before joining SCEC in 2017, she served in leadership roles with the Nome Eskimo Community, a federally-recognized tribe in Alaska, overseeing federal funding portfolios, supervising a staff of 30, and developing schoolbased and community programs serving hundreds of Tribal youth each year.Marsha is a 2024 John T. Gorman Foundation Fellow and holds a B.A. from UMass Amherst and Goucher College. She has extensive training in family strengthening, cultural competency, organizational leadership, and recently completed her FPQP certificate in financial planning. She lives in Jonesboro with her husband Mike and their three cats and enjoys gardening, fishing, and traveling.
