About me
Janet is the Director of Special Projects for Reach Out and Read’s Northeast Region. A national nonprofit with programs in every state, Reach Out and Read partners directly with practitioners to promote early literacy and relational health during well child visits for children aged 0-5. The program combines advice from a trusted source about the developmental importance of daily shared reading with the gift of a beautiful new book in the family’s home language. It is the only model endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics as a standard of care that every child should receive.Janet has been with Reach Out and Read for six years. Her projects are varied and span the region’s functional areas. They include program expansion and support, practitioner engagement, strategic planning and book sourcing. Prior to joining the Northeast team, she was the Director of Development and Communications for a Boston nonprofit providing year-round out-of-school-time academic enrichment. She has also been a program evaluator and policy analyst with the Government Accountability Office.
