Tamara Ranger serves as the Director of the Office of Workforce Development and Innovative Pathways at the Maine Department of Education. Tamara oversees a comprehensive portfolio including Adult Education, Career and Technical Education (CTE), Education Pathways & Early College, and Extended Learning Opportunities. Under her leadership, her team successfully deployed over $32 million in federal funding to bridge the gap between education and industry. In 2025, her office empowered more than 36,000 students through career-connected learning and credentialing programs. Ranger is a founding member of the Maine Career Pathways (MCP) program, and she continues to shape the initiative’s future as a member of the MCP advisory committee. A former Maine Teacher of the Year (2017), Tamara combines her classroom roots with executive expertise to expand pathways for Maine’s students and support Maine’s future workforce.
